Raise A Child's Smile 2009:
More than $200,000 Raised!

A Night of Festivity and Philanthropy

It was a night of festivity and philanthropy as 250 guests gathered at the Liberty Grand in downtown Toronto for Raise A Child's Smile, The Hincks-Dellcrest Centre's annual gala fundraiser.  The event was a fabulous evening of delectable cuisine, live jazz, prize draws, and unique silent and live auction items.

 Every Penny Counts!

Themed "Pennies from Heaven" - because every penny counts in supporting children's healthy emotional development and well-being - the event raised more than $200,000!  Proceeds support a variety of children's mental health programs, including prevention, early intervention, treatment, training, and research initiatives.

Honouring Doug and June Barber

Raise A Child's Smile was also an opportunity to recognize two of our most dedicated supporters, as we honoured Doug and June Barber for their longtime commitment to The Hincks-Dellcrest Centre and the Learning Through Play International project.  Doug and June, who have been supporters of The Hincks-Dellcrest Centre since 2000, spoke of the personal interest they and their family have in the field of children's mental health and of their commitment to empowering parents through Learning Through Play International.
